About Me
I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor specialising in individuals from age 18. I have over 32 years of experience in private practice, with the charity Mind and in corporate blue chip business.
Trained in both Integrative and Gestalt Psychotherapeutic Counselling with WCPF and the Metanoia Institute, my approach is to work with you as an equal, in a dialogical way and at your own speed, letting things unfold naturally. Above all I aim to provide a safe and supportive environment for you.
My Approach
Combining personal life experiences with a training in psychotherapy, my approach is non-judgmental, open and honest. By understanding how you are feeling, both bodily and mentally, helps me provide guidance and support during your journey.
My primary approach is Gestalt, meaning that I am curious about how you experience life in the present.
Our bodies often give valuable clues into what is really happening for us and by developing a mutually equal and dialogical relationship, we use these clues together with prominent memories from the past to alleviate and liberate you from the feelings that accompany them.
By learning to understand why we experience our lives as we do can be a truly life enhancing experience but requires a genuine desire to look at ourselves honestly. The work we do together can be challenging, sometimes raising uncomfortable feelings and emotions, so it's important that you genuinely want to do it and are prepared to deal with what arises with support from me.
